Given all the media interest, the McCaugheys easily could have launched a reality television show. Networks would likely have lined up to follow the chaos of everyday life in their home.
Instead, they declined offers for permanent cameras in their house. They chose occasional TV appearances and interviews, not a nonstop broadcast of their private lives.
